Some days in business are full from start to finish, and today was one of those days.
It has been a busy day recording podcast episodes for the weeks ahead. Nick Clift and I are heading back on the road on Sunday 8th February for a couple of very full weeks, so there is a real sense of focus right now. Before we leave Bali, we want to make sure our upcoming podcast episodes are recorded, organised, and sent through to the producers so everything keeps moving smoothly.
That is often the reality of producing a podcast while also running a business. People hear the finished conversation, but there is a lot happening in the background to make each episode possible. There is scheduling, preparation, coordination with guests, recording time, post production, and all the small details that need attention. It is a lot, but it is also work I genuinely enjoy because great conversations are always worth making time for.
Today we had the pleasure of recording with Adam Ross and Niall Mackay, and both conversations were exactly the kind of conversations we love having. Thoughtful, practical, engaging, and full of insight.
A big thank you to both of you for joining us.
One of the things I value most about podcasting is the chance to sit down with people who are doing meaningful work and ask the kinds of questions that open up real discussion. The best episodes are never just about getting through a list of talking points. They are about exploring ideas properly, sharing lessons from experience, and creating something useful for the people listening.
That is exactly what happened today.
As always, we ran out of time before we ran out of conversation. That tends to be a very good sign. It means the discussion had depth. It means there was more to unpack. It means there were still more stories, more lessons, and more practical insights we could have explored if time had allowed.
That is why we already know we will be inviting both Adam and Niall back for follow up episodes.
When a conversation keeps flowing naturally, it usually means there is real value in it. Those are the episodes I enjoy most, not because they are polished or perfect, but because they are honest and useful. They reflect the kind of leadership and business conversations that help people think more clearly about what they are doing and how they are doing it.
For me, that is what makes podcasting worthwhile.
It is not about filling space. It is about creating conversations that can genuinely help someone else. Whether that is a business owner, a leader, or someone responsible for service delivery and team performance, the goal is always the same. Share something practical. Share something real. Share something people can take back into their own business and apply.
That is also why preparation matters so much.
When Nick and I know we are about to travel, there is extra effort required to get ahead. It would be easy to leave things until later, but that usually creates pressure you do not need. Getting organised in advance means the podcast can continue to serve our audience even while we are moving between places. It gives us breathing room. It gives the producers what they need. It keeps momentum going.
In business, that kind of preparation often makes the difference between stress and clarity.
It is a principle that applies far beyond podcasting. When you take the time to think ahead, get the right things done early, and create a clear handover for the next step, everything works better. There is less chaos, less last minute scrambling, and more confidence that the important things are still progressing.
Today was a good reminder of that.
It was a full day, but it was full of the right things. Good conversations. Great guests. Meaningful content. The kind of work that takes energy, but gives energy back as well.
So thank you again to Adam Ross and Niall Mackay for your time, your generosity, and the quality of the conversation. We are looking forward to sharing these episodes soon, and I already know there is more to come when we bring you both back for another round.
Now the focus shifts to getting everything off to the producers before we leave Bali.
Busy day, yes.
Productive day, absolutely.
And very much worth it.
