Back Behind the Microphone: A New Year of MSP Mastery Conversations

After a couple of months of holidays and work travel, we’re back into our regular recording rhythm for the MSP Mastery Podcast. And I’m really enjoying it. There’s something lovely about making time for a good conversation. Sitting down with someone, hearing their story and exploring a perspective that might be different from your own. Then getting to share that conversation with an audience who can take something useful from it. That’s what I love about podcasting, and it’s what makes returning to the microphone feel so rewarding.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

We’re now into our second year of the podcast, which feels like a lovely milestone.

Starting a podcast is one thing. Continuing to make space for it, alongside work, travel and everything else life brings, is another.

There’s a term for shows that gradually stop publishing: podfade. The initial enthusiasm gives way to competing priorities, recording becomes less regular, and eventually the next episode never arrives.

Keeping a show going takes consistency. It means making time for the conversations, staying curious and remembering why you started.

For us, reaching our second year is also a chance to appreciate the people who make the podcast worthwhile. Our guests, who are willing to share their experiences, and our listeners, who give us their time and attention.

Our community is growing, our audience is engaged, and it’s good to feel that momentum as we settle back into recording.

Good Conversations, Not Sales Pitches

MSP Mastery is about conversations with MSP leaders and the experts who support them.

What interests me most is the person and the experience behind the business. What have they learned? What has challenged their thinking? What perspective could they offer someone navigating similar decisions?

A useful conversation doesn’t need to present a perfect success story. Sometimes the most valuable thing someone can share is an experience that didn’t go as expected, a lesson they’re still working through, or a different way of looking at a familiar problem.

That’s why we’re looking for genuine conversations rather than sales pitches.

There’s a difference between talking about your work to share something useful and using a conversation to promote what you sell. We’re interested in the stories, ideas and experiences that give listeners something to think about.

Could You Be Our Next Guest?

We’re always happy to hear from people who have a thoughtful, interesting or useful perspective to share with our listeners.

Perhaps you have a story from your experience leading an MSP. Perhaps you work alongside MSP businesses and see challenges or opportunities from a different angle. Or perhaps there’s a lesson you’ve learned that could help someone else.

You don’t need to arrive with a polished presentation. A clear sense of the story you’d like to share, and why it might matter to our audience, is a good place to start.

If that sounds like you, reach out and tell us a little about yourself. We can have a chat about your idea and see whether it feels like the right match.

I’m looking forward to the conversations this next year will bring, and to sharing them with you.
