Finding Your Tribe: The Power of Connection in Business and Life
As we approach three years of calling Bali home, I’ve been reflecting on one of the more unexpected challenges of relocating: finding your “tribe.” Moving to a new country is exciting, energising, and full of possibility. But beyond the beautiful surroundings and new experiences, there’s a quieter, more personal layer to navigate, building meaningful connections with people who truly understand your world. For many entrepreneurs and remote business owners, that sense of connection doesn’t happen by accident. It requires intention.

As we approach three years of calling Bali home, I’ve been reflecting on one of the more unexpected challenges of relocating: finding your “tribe.”
Moving to a new country is exciting, energising, and full of possibility.
But beyond the beautiful surroundings and new experiences, there’s a quieter, more personal layer to navigate, building meaningful connections with people who truly understand your world.
For many entrepreneurs and remote business owners, that sense of connection doesn’t happen by accident.
It requires intention.
This week, we took a step in that direction by joining United Founders.
It feels like the beginning of something special, a chance to connect with fellow entrepreneurs, the people behind some of Bali’s most recognised businesses, and other expats who, like us, are building and running companies from afar.
There’s something powerful about being in a room full of people who “get it.”
People who understand the highs of growth and the pressures that come with it.
People who know what it’s like to make decisions without a clear roadmap, to juggle competing priorities, and to constantly adapt.
These shared experiences create an immediate sense of understanding, and often, a willingness to help.
Because that’s the real value of finding your tribe.
It’s not just about networking. I
t’s about surrounding yourself with people who challenge your thinking, who offer perspective, and who are genuinely invested in seeing others succeed.
Conversations become richer.
Ideas evolve faster.
Problems feel more manageable when you’re not solving them alone.
In these communities, collaboration often replaces competition.
Insights are shared openly.
And support, both professional and personal, becomes part of the culture.
For us, joining United Founders is about more than expanding our network. It’s about creating space for connection, learning, and growth alongside people who are walking a similar path.
Because no matter where you are in the world, building a business can be a lonely journey.
But it doesn’t have to be.
Finding your tribe changes everything.
