I am home.
In Bali.
After three weeks in Australia and a significant amount of ground covered, I’m finally back in the sun. This tour was a whirlwind of logistics and locations: Bali direct into Adelaide, then Melbourne, before heading to Sydney for our EOS Implementer community Quarterly Collaborative Exchange.
The Exchange is always a highlight, a day dedicated to learning and re-connecting with my peers to ensure I’m bringing the best possible insights to my own clients.
From there, the momentum didn't stop: back to Melbourne, a quick overnight to Adelaide, and a two-hour drive to Wallaroo (yes, it is a real place!). One more return to Melbourne, followed by a quick trip to Sydney so Nick Clift could attend the Catalyst conference with Morphability Pty Ltd.
Finally, the journey came full circle from Melbourne back home to Bali.
The Agony of 12 Degrees
To give us a proper send-off, Melbourne put on a classic display: rain, hail, and a brisk 12 degrees. My autoimmune disorder and I have a very clear, long-standing agreement: we do not like the cold.
As much as I love the energy of the southern cities, my body was definitely ready for the humidity of the tropics.
The Juggle of International Reach
Over time, we’ve had to expand these tours from two weeks to three just to fit everything in. It is a constant juggle of client sessions, family time, catching up with friends, peer learning, and community events.
One of the most rewarding moments of this trip was catching up with members of the team from our old business, DWM Solutions. Some of them we hadn’t seen in years, and it was a wonderful opportunity to hear about their new chapters and successes.
The goal for these trips is always the same: maximize the time on the ground and make every single conversation count.
The Primary Takeaway
Despite the miles and the many locations, my primary takeaway remains unchanged: Nothing beats the value of sitting down regularly to work on the business.
While digital connections are vital, those face-to-face sessions provide a level of clarity, alignment, and human connection that simply cannot be replicated. It is that "in-the-room" energy that keeps a leadership team moving forward together with confidence.
Recharging in the Sun
It is good to be back in the Bali sun to catch my breath and recharge. Building a business that allows for this kind of international reach takes immense work and discipline, but the perspective it provides for both me and my clients is worth every mile flown.
We ended the journey with a drink after a long walk on the beach with the dogs. They were VERY excited to see us after three weeks away, and honestly, the feeling is mutual.
